Shigeo Saito is director of marketing for LocationFree, a division of Sony Electronics' Information Technology Products Division. In this position, he is responsible for the launch of LocationFree products, which have introduced the concept of "place-shifting" to the U.S. market.
Saito joined the Sony Corporation (Japan) in 1988. He started on Sony's Business & Industrial Systems Company where he was responsible for professional display marketing. After several successful years, he moved on to build his career at Sony Europe's Mobile Electronics OEM business where he was promoted to sales and marketing manager prior to returning to Japan.
In 1999 Shigeo came to the United States and joined Sony Electronics Inc. where he assumed the role of senior manager of business development for Sony's Broadcast and Professional Companys' Display Systems Division. Saito went on to be promoted to director heading up product management, inventory management, business development and business planning for the division.
In 2001, he assumed the role of director of Sony's TV marketing division where he launched Sony's first Plasma TV product, Micro Display TV and first LCD TV. In this role, he was responsible for product management and was credited for contributing to record sales.
Shigeo currently handles a wide variety of business and marketing activities surrounding LocationFree products including technology developments, third-party relationships and product launches.
Saito earned a Bachelor of Law degree from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan.
