Agenda to Focus on IPTV and Related Technologies
Fremont, CA , April 14, 2008: The Broadband Services Forum (BSF) will hold its Spring 2008 meeting at the Hilton Plaza Hotel in Vienna, Austria between April 23-24, 2008. The meeting, which is being hosted by Telekom Austria, will include two separate one-day tracks aimed at addressing the fundamental business and technology issues vital to the growth and health of the broadband industry.
Sessions on the first day (April 23) will focus on consumer benefits, marketing and business potential related to new IPTV services. The topics for these sessions were selected using an interactive online voting system where BSF members were given a list of 11 potential topics. The selected topics are:
- High Definition via IPTV and new VOD content developments
- Content Search and Recommendation Systems
- Open Internet and Web 2.0 services on TV
- Converged Services and Three-screen Solutions
In addition, Telekom Austria will demonstrate applications, being developed in their R&D lab, related to the topics within each session.
On the second day (April 24), these four topics will be examined further, with a focus on technology roadmaps and solutions, by industry experts from leading technology vendors, including Alcatel-Lucent, Harmonic, Casero, and Fast.
