In the last few years, the latest, and probably the most prominent, development that has been made is Wireless Internet. In basic terms this is when you have a computer that is on the internet but is not connected by cables of any kind. It allows you to stay online from pretty much wherever you are.

To begin with, it was run on a dial-up connection, which was painfully slow and frustrating to use. Broadband was introduced in 2000 and from that point on, things would never be the same again. It revolutionised the online world in almost every way you can think of and soon everyone was looking to surf the net and communicate with others from all corners of the globe, whether in business, socially or in many cases, just because they could. It was broadband that really inspired and brought about the new global community that we live in today, bringing together people from all walks of life and enabling us to contact friends or associates across the other side of the world instantly, at the click of a button.
